Sometimes we need to get out of our own way. We need to stop blocking ourselves from what we want. We can very easily be our own worst enemy. Crazy, but true. Even when it seems like “someone” is cramping our style, we always get to make the final decision about how we are going to deal with it. Someone on the outside doesn’t have the power to bring us down. Only we have that power. This could be very good news. It could be really frustrating news. Regardless, having the awareness that we can change our own circumstances is a game changer.
We can be our own worst critics. We can be the ones who are most hard on ourselves. The cool part in acknowledging this is that we can change it because, inevitably, we are in control of what we do and how we think. When we become rigid and strict about how people and situations should look, we can block the natural flow of good things that want to come our way. To say it straight, when we are controlling of our lives we block our own path.
So, how do you unblock yourself?
Well, here is my best answer: Live in your flow.
I know that can sound a bit “out there,” but it’s the best way I can think to say it. What do I mean by “live in the flow?” I mean, pay attention. Pay attention to what is going on around you and within you and let it guide you. What ideas are coming up? What thoughts do you have that are positive that you can act on? What urges do you have? Who and what is around you that you can connect with? So often we have a good idea or thought and the very next thing we do is break down why we shouldn’t do it. Wonder if we didn’t listen to that voice and went with the gut? What would happen to your life if you followed your intuition, gut, urges and ideas?
The people in this world that are going with their instincts and acting on their intuition are the people who are moving mountains. They are the people who are creating and doing the things you want to be doing. You are more capable then you give yourself credit for. You will see how very capable you are when you get out of your way and stop blocking the gems of life from trying to get your attention.
Start to go with your flow. Pay attention to what is going on around you and within you. Ditch the want to control. Clear your path. It’s much easier to navigate when it’s not blocked.
