It’s cool how small and simple moments with strangers can leave an impact.
Here is a small moment from my life recently that I wanted to share with you. It's just a simple message that for some reason has stuck with me. With that said, todays post was inspired by my uber driver from last week. As my uber dropped me off, the driver turned his head, looked at me dead in the eye (with his amazing dread locks wound up loosely on his head) and said:
“Be the light.”
I guess that comment is open for interpretation, but here is what I took from his message:
I suppose, for me, “being the light” involves being kind, dropping the judgements and criticism, (both toward yourself and others) remaining open minded, dropping the ego, treating others with kindness and genuinely doing your best to create positive feelings.
I could go into more detail about this, although in an attempt to keep it simple, I believe that “being the light,” generally speaking, involves positivity and good feelings. When you’re living a life rooted with positivity and light you’re, consequently, reflecting that out into the world and onto others. Doing your best to bring good vibes and positive feelings toward yourself and others will cause a ripple effect within the bigger picture of the ever revolving world.
Everything and everyone is connected. Whether this phrase speaks to you or not, I suppose more of the general message is to do your best every day to treat yourself and others in the best way you know how. In doing that, you will be giving your best to others and to the world.
Have an amazing day…….. be the light.
