I’ve always believed that the quality of your life is greatly connected to the relationship that you hold with your own self.
No matter what your life situation brings or is, when you hold a loving relationship with your own self, you can manage life more effectively, enjoy life more and bring more ease, grace and clarity into your days.
Investing the time and energy to make sure that you have a healthy relationship with your own self is an important task to tend too in this life. I highly recommend everyone to “Date Themselves” at one point or another. Meaning, take a period of time in your life, where you can pay full attention to who you are and what you need in order to become strongly rooted in your own essence.
If you want to be a desirable friend, romantic partner, co-worker, etc, first and foremost, make sure that you enjoy your own company. After all, If you don’t enjoy your own company, why would somebody else want to be on the other end of you?
Here are some ideas for you to consider in order for you to tap into your worth and true essence:
Find Your Fire
What makes you tick? Where does your attention go? Where does your interest lie? What are you gravitated toward doing in your spare time? If you feel like you don’t have “spare time,” what do you day dream about doing? Get clear around what it is that lights you up. Once you discover that; do more of it.
Discover Your Voice
Learn to speak up and own your own opinion. You have so much to offer and if you have a habit of holding in your thoughts, we (the world) do not get to experience the full you. It can be intimidating to learn to speak your mind. Especially for the people pleasers out there. There can be so much fear around how our true voice will come off and be interpreted by others.
I’m here to help you care less about that.
The reality is that not everyone, no matter how much you try to please them, are going to agree or like what you say. Learn to allow others to have their own opinions without concerning yourself about it. A place to put your energy is in the delivery of your voice and message. Taking the time to hone and verbalize your thoughts in a respectful and graceful way is all you need to consume your time with. How it’s taken, is not up to you nor in your control. Let it go.
Love Your Style
Discover your vibe and have fun with it. Take time to hone what you're about. Style can be seen in so many different aspects: decor, attitude, dress, approach to life, speech, etc. If you don't know where to look to get a sense of what your style is, pay attention to how you carry yourself, think about yourself and show up. The energy that you bring to your life makes up your vibe and style. Play around with becoming more aware of how you are showing up in your life. The character that you play within your own life is within your control. Your job is to be very true to who you authentically are. When you begin to really believe and own this concept, so much can shift and change within both your internal and external world. Love who you uniquely are. Learn to love what you're about and your style of being.
I believe with my everything that learning to love yourself is the path to all that is good for you in this lifetime. If you put energy into learning anything in this life; please begin with loving who you are and believing that you have everything to offer.
