The idea of perfect can work against us: Big Time.
When this word comes up in the sessions with my clients, I always ask: "What does perfect even mean?"
Seriously, what is perfect?
The reality is that what's perfect to one person is imperfect to another. When it all comes down to it, we all have different ideas of what's desirable, attractive and interesting. With this being the case, how can perfect be defined?
I'm not sure it can.
Although, I know that a lot of us still strive toward achieving "IT," which leaves us feeling defeated, empty and not good enough. It's totally exhausting.
Today is a quick reminder that you, my friend, are exactly right on target just the way you are. There is no need to wait for anything external or internal to happen in order to "be" better. All that needs to happen is to hone a more positive and healthy perspective that honors who and where you are now.
That's the truth.
This life is a journey and to get caught up in believing that it's supposed to look pretty every step of the way will not serve you. On the contrary, this thinking can actually break you. We do not need you broken. This world needs you in tact and ready to go.
Sometimes, less is more. As with this message.
Do your best to release yourself from the inflexibility and pain of perfection. Your best, not what's considered "perfect," is what's going to point you in the right direction. Trust that.
